Saturday with the Hubby

Hey there =^_^=

Today was a good day....well I suppose it was as good as it can be since Daddy and Cassie left this past Saturday. I woke up at 5:30 this morning to take Chowder outside and couldn't go back to sleep after that. Sheesh...so much for sleeping in on Saturday!

The hubby was off today so we spent most of the morning hanging out and then made our way to Mori Town to buy a planner for Cassie. I picked up a few pens, a pencil, and an eraser for work. After that we moseyed on down to Joyful Honda to buy Chowder some new toys. My husband read that in order to assuage his loneliness we should get him more toys. Uhuh...

I was able to pick up some Shiseido oil blotting sheets for one of my besties back in Guam, I was so excited to find them that I picked up three for her. I also found some gel liner from Kate that I'm excited to try out. When Cass was here I was using her sepia ink from Bobbi Brown, but she took that back when she left...naturally.

Here's the packaging from Kiddyland! It's super cute! I think the sales rep was asking me if it was a gift and I unknowingly responded with a happy "hai"...lol. Nonetheless, it's a totally kawaii detail.

The pens, pencil, eraser, and little hair ties are mine. I didn't take a better picture of Cassie's planner b/c I didn't want to take it out of the package and not be able to stuff it back in. It always kills the appearance when you can't put the object back in and make it look how it did originally. I know she'll like it though. We LOVE Hello Kitty, but our favorite has always been the Twin Stars ^_^

Ah yes, I also picked up a can of hair refresher. I had smelled a couple at the bigger Kiddyland in Harajuku before and hoped this would be the same sort of scent...it's not. It has this weird smell to it. But I think I'll try it in my hair and see how they mix before I completely write it off as a disaster. I was eyeing the orange can but ultimately decided on the pink...knew I should have gone with my gut!

Here's the Kate gel liner. It was 975 yen. It's definitely smaller than the Bobbi Brown liner I love, but since it was half off (even in USD) I figured it was worth a try.

It doesn't show up in the picture, but it looks sparkly in the jar. I think it'll turn out to be pretty nice. We shall see...
The blotting paper I picked up for Puma. She swears it's the best she's ever tried. I couldn't find it at any of the other little stores I looked in, but Joyful Honda had a bunch. Some in flexible plastic pouches, and others in decorative paper holders. Hopefully this is the right one!

Here are some pictures of Chowder with his new toy and shirt. I've never put clothes on a dog, so this was a new experience LOL. He kept reaching down to bite his sleeve b/c he wasn't used to it. The shirt ended up being too large for him. My husband wants to go back and get him a smaller size in the camo print. It'll be totally be reminiscent of BAPE.

And finally here's my makeup for the day. I was channeling Cassie and her recent love of heavy black liner. Hopefully it looks ok ^_^. Tootles!

Work Woes

Happy Wednesday! Hump day, right?

Cassie and Daddy left Japan Saturday, so it's just me, the hubby, and Chowder until we get a vacation or after we PCS and get to visit before our next station. Started a new job, and so far it's OK. There was a lot to learn in the beginning, but finally being able to do some stuff hands on has helped me get the hang of things quickly. The people in the office are nice too, so that helps. There's a BBQ on Friday, which means we get to leave work early AND dress down, but we have to stay through our normal hours of work. I currently work 8-5, so if I want to head on over I'd have to stay until 5. I told my supervisor I might bring my husband, to which he responded that it's expected that people bringing guests also bring a dish to share as well. LOL. Not a problem, but it didn't say that in the mass email that was sent out. Oh well, life goes on. I might not even stay the entire time, just see what it's about with the hubby and then go back to work. There's too many people working here anyway and I probably only know 1/8th of them o_O

I ordered some Rock & Republic blushes because of their 50% off and 0.99 shipping offer. I had to have those babies sent to my parents' house back in Vegas though because they don't ship to APO addies. Totally lame IMO, people in the military rely on mail orders and online shipping these days!! Help us out yo! Oh well. They arrived really quickly even though shipping was 99 cents. Cassie is supposed to swatch them and send them over, along with some of my jewelry and other stuff I left back home. She better hurry up too!! (Love you sis!)

I also ordered 4 dresses from Macy's, some stuff from Forever 21, and also from Victoria's Secret. I was tempted to also buy a Harajuku Lover's shirt I've seen Holly Ann Aeree and itsjudytime, but I can't justify spending another 34 dollars plus S&H. I'm trying to be responsible and grown up, no matter how much it sucks. I'll wait, it'll probably go on sale anyway if it doesn't sell out, right?

So my husband had PT this morning, and before work bought us breakfast from the E club. I had the veggie skillet, which tasted OK, but man was it oily. I feel like it's stuck in my esophagus. Gross much...

Oh well. Hopefully the blog posts pick up on both ends. Cassie will be busy with school, and me...well I'm just lazy -__-. The house is just too quiet now. Chowder misses his constant companion, my husband misses Cassandra Lynn..I miss everyone. It was pretty hard to say goodbye, but definitely not as hard as the first time I left home. My dad says it gets easier, and I'm sure it will. It will just always suck until my husband retires.

Bye for now ^_^

Quick Mini Merchandise Haul

Hey Guys,
It's about 9:30 pm here in Japan. Just thought I'd share with what I've gotten while I've been here. And sorry that it's only two items. :P

Check it out!! Isn't my backpack SWEET!!! Forgive the lame pun. :P I actually wanted a different backpack that had donuts instead of the macaroons but it said "I love rings" which I didn't really like but I love donuts so much that I might go back and get it before I leave! xD

Kawaii nee?! (:

And last but certainly not least, my phone charm from a vending machine at the HK Gift gate in Shinjuku!

It was only 200 Yen! :D It's Kiki The Little Twin Star! :D With his pet....um...anyone know what it is??? :P
Vending machines rock! Keep some change on you if you're ever in Japan! xD

Hoped you guys enjoyed what little I posted! (:

I ordered some e.l.f. products back in May, and I've heard a lot of people say that the shipping used to take forever, but it's better now. Well, that is NOT the case for anyone living overseas with an APO address. Well maybe it is, but definitely not for me. It only arrived today AND the package was completely dirty and marked received damaged o_O

Nonetheless, I liked the products that came. Can't really complain since they aren't that expensive. I really only wanted to try the studio brushes since tons of people on youtube said they were really nice quality, but I ended up grabbing some other stuff as well. I got two of the flat top powder brushes (one for me, one for Cassie), one complexion brush, a blush brush, a studio blush in peachy keen, two of the all over shimmer sticks, and a few of the facial whips. Everything was fine except for the pink lemonade facial whip I got for Cassie, the contents had separated and it was gross. We squeezed it out into an empty contacts case and stuck it in the fridge for a bit...hopefully it turns out ok lol.

Anywho. We didn't do much else today. Stayed home since the husband was working. Maybe tomorrow we'll hit up the base library, it's totally small and NOT what I'm used to since I worked in a really large library district back in Vegas, but at least there's one here.

Bye for now!!

Mascara & Chowder

I tried out the HK mascara that Cassie bought me as an early birthday present. It works pretty much the same as the regular Maybelline volum' express mascara. I think it holds a curl just a bit better though. The packaging is totally kawaii, but there was clumping on the lashes after just one coat. The comb just holds too much mascara at a time. I like it though ^_^

I think I would buy it again, even if the only reason is because it's Hello Kitty, although it's a lot cheaper in the states to buy just the basic volume express mascara...haha, but who isn't a sucker for HK and cute packaging?

We also took Chowder for a walk today. He's regressing to naughty puppy behavior. Our mom flew back to Las Vegas this past Saturday and we told her he was going to start acting up. Once she got here he started behaving and listening, our mom is a total dog person. *Sighs* He's cute, but man he can be a brat. We were trying to put his harness on to take him outside for a walk and he kept biting me and Cassie. He had a good time though. There's an area here at the park that's enclosed so that the dogs can be let off of the leash. He doesn't want to answer to his name or sit...we'll have to keep working at it. Like Cesar Milan says: "You have to be the pack leader!" Here's are some pics of him after his walk.

Our First Blog Entry

Well, here we are!!!!
Here is our blog, finally up and running. However, we're still trying to figure out how to personalize it... can anyone help us? Haha. xD

Today we picked up Maybelline x Hello Kitty Volum Express Cat Eyes Mascara. It is the edition that is exclusive to Japan SO the tube is entirely covered in pink and black zebra print along with HK stamped around the pattern. We're not too sure about the comb applicator but we love Hello Kitty! So even if the product isn't wonderful we're suckers for packaging! Will post a review on the product soon!

Until then,
The Serendipitous Sisters, Cassandra & Angela. ^_^
